What the paint filter test checks
Landfills use a paint filter test to see whether a solid waste sample still holds free liquid. If liquid drains from the sample, the load is not ready. The Muckraker is designed to produce dewatered solids capable of meeting paint filter requirements when properly operated. It does not replace the test, the sampler, or the landfill's acceptance rules.
How the auger gets solids closer to landfill-ready
Water weighs over 8 pounds a gallon. The auger compresses the trash and sends that water back to the tank. What leaves in the bin is lighter than a wet rake-full.
Screening before land application
Land application spreads wastewater on fields. Subsurface discharge sends it through laterals. Rags and wipes that reach either one clog the gear. Prescreening pulls that material out first, and the permit stays with the operator.
